The SUBHC AGM is scheduled for Monday 20 May 2019 at 7.30pm. It will take place at The Diamond, Leavygreave Road, Sheffield, S3 7RD. The AGM will involve a review of the year, potential new developments for the club and the voting of members to the Executive Committee.
Any club member can stand for any of the roles listed below provided they are nominated and seconded by two other club members of the club (these cannot be current EC members). Each position is elected on the night, no positions are carried over, existing EC members wishing to continue in post must be reelected.
If you would like to stand please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the position you would like to stand for and copy in you nominator and seconder, indicating which is which. The deadline for this is Thursday 16 May 2019.
President- Figurehead for the club. Primarily honorary role, will be first person called upon to own a key challenge for the club, for example Steve Brook has taken the lead on the relocation.
Chair- Central gure in the running and organisation of the club. Is accountable for the strategy of the club and its delivery through all club volunteers.
Vice Chair– Support the chair in all matters and has responsibility for all playing aspects.
Secretary- Accountable for the governance of the Club. Responsible for setting the agenda for and organising the Executive Committee Meetings. Responsible for key club communication
Treasurer– Accountable for the nancial strategy, budget and accounting of the club.
Club Captain (Men)- Responsible for men’s side of the club, playing, training and selection. The first point of contact for any club member with a playing issue, supports captains in their roles.
Club Captain (Women)- Responsible for women’s side of the club, playing, training and selection. The first point of contact for any club member with a playing issue, supports captains in their roles
Fixtures, Facilities and Umpires Secretary- Accountable for the organisation of all matches, the facilities, the teas and umpires as appropriate; coordinating with both the association bodies as appropriate and opponents.
Chair of Selection– Accountable for the delivery of the club selection policy in accordance with association rules. Accountable for the running of a weekly selection meeting at which all teams are to be selected and records of previous weeks Fixtures are to be collated.
Ladies Chair of Selection– Accountable for the delivery of the club selection policy in accordance with association rules within the ladies teams only. Accountable for the running of a weekly selection meeting at which all teams are to be selected and records of previous weeks Fixtures are to be collated.
Fundraising- Accountable for Finding other sources of funding for the club. For example: sponsorship for the club or the 100 club
Youth Development- Accountable for the safeguarding of all juniors, the club strategy for juniors, organisation and delivery of all junior activities (training and matches).
Communications- Accountable for provision of communication channels (social media, internet, etc.) and responsible for providing regular content including messages from EC to the club
Social/hospitality– Accountable for planning and delivery of the club social events (for example race nights and the end of season meal) and for ensuring that teas are organised on a match day with captains.
Volunteer Coordinator– Engage with all volunteers and prospective volunteers to ensure they have all the support the information and support they need to carry out their role
If more than one person would like a position then the people involved will have to do a short speech (2 minutes) and then those present will vote.
